About Us

Chuck Howard, a former CPA (certified public accountant),  honed his business credentials at one of the Big-8 accounting firms. After departing  Touche Ross, he ventured into the entrepreneurial realm, establishing a manufacturing business from the ground up. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to initiate and successfully sell not just one, but two businesses: one in manufacturing and another in distribution, totaling two successful ventures.

From this experience, Chuck realized how challenging it was for business owners to value and sell their businesses and transitioned to providing accounting services to business brokers.

In one challenging deal, Chuck was given a business to prepare for sale where the books were a complete mess. He cleaned the books and the business owner requested that Chuck be directly involved in selling the business. It took work, but through perseverance (and after showing the business to over 40 buyers) Chuck successfully negotiated the sale. 

Referrals followed and Tangent Brokerage was founded and flourished. 

Over time, Chuck has built deep expertise in finding hidden add backs and identifying seller profits. This helped buyers understand the true profits of ownership. We now have brokers with over 38 years of experience in Business Brokering.
